How Wallpaper Elevated Our Clients’ Designs

Wallpaper has become one of our favorite ways to transform a space quietly. It's not just a trend or an afterthought; it’s a thoughtful design element that adds depth, warmth, and personality to our clients' homes.

In our work, wallpaper is all about intention. It shapes the atmosphere of a room, influencing how it feels when you enter, how it envelops you, and how it mirrors the lives of the people who inhabit the space.

In the image below, our clients for this project were a delightful, fun couple who wanted their breakfast room to exude excitement.  My design inspiration came from nature, and we incorporated a variety of textures using a neutral color palette.  The hemp grasscloth was the perfect complement, adding visual interest to the room.

Wallpaper as a Foundational Design Element

Wallpaper serves more than just decorative purposes; it shapes the overall experience of a room. Like lighting or custom millwork, wallpaper plays a fundamental role in our design approach. The beautiful silk cloth wallpaper and architectural features add quiet richness to this primary bedroom design.

The concept of longevity always drives our selections. We prefer materials and patterns that feel timeless, tactile, and layered—choices that will remain relevant for years to come.

Thoughtful Statements, Never Overstated

Some of the most impactful spaces in a home are the smallest ones. We love to create “jewel box” spaces in our projects, such as powder rooms, which offer excellent opportunities to introduce wallpaper in a way that feels intentional and refined.

Whether we choose a subtle tonal pattern or a more expressive motif, it’s essential to carefully consider scale, color, and placement so that the wallpaper enhances the room rather than competes with it. The outcome is a statement that feels effortless and curated, not overwhelming.

Adding Depth Through Texture

Texture is crucial to our design aesthetic. In homes with soft, neutral color palettes, wallpaper introduces dimension and warmth that paint alone cannot achieve. For the dining room ceiling, we recommended a stunning 3D wood-veneer wallpaper that significantly impacts the overall design.

We often combine wall coverings with plaster finishes, tailored upholstery, and warm metals to create interiors that feel calm, inviting, and visually rich. This approach is fundamental in bedrooms and living spaces, where comfort and subtle luxury are most essential.

Designing Around the Client

Every wallpaper we select is deeply personal. We take time to understand how our clients live, entertain, and retreat in their homes. For some, that means a classic pattern that will age beautifully. For others, it's a custom or artisanal wallcovering that tells a story or captures a sense of place.

Wallpaper allows us to personalize a home in a way that feels layered and intentional—without relying on trends that quickly fade. For the project below, our client’s Rustic Farmhouse vibe was the perfect space for this textured wallpaper.

A Lasting Investment in Design

When chosen thoughtfully and installed with care, wallpaper becomes part of a home's architecture. It elevates everyday spaces into experiences and adds a level of craftsmanship that discerning clients immediately feel.

For us, wallpaper isn't about making a bold statement—it's about creating homes that feel refined, welcoming, and deeply personal.
