At our design firm, the design process starts when clients hire us. You, as our client, are super excited about the start of your project. We are, too! We are going to make your house beautiful! The beginning of your design is the conceptual design phase. The conceptual design will take about 1-2 months, depending on the project's scope. The designer will use your design goals, the information from the design consultation, and the questionnaire to create a design concept. The next step is the conceptual design meeting. At this time, you'll see the direction of your design. You're excited about having your home transformed. The sourcing will take about 1-2 months.

The third step is to finalize all the details in a detailed design meeting with your designer. There are so many details to a successful design. For instance, decisions on all finishes, fabrics, furniture, lighting, and any items going into storage or donation.

Up until this point, your design has been all conceptual. However, now the purchasing and execution phase begins—all the elements for your project are on order. Custom items take time; they are handmade and must be delivered. Please prepare yourself and your family for having tradespeople in your house almost every workday. The dust and mess of construction may seem like it will never end. Understandably, this is the most challenging phase. Depending on the scope of your project, it could be 4-6 months or more. However, the good news is that you see progress.

The installation process is about to begin. Once the construction, mess, and dust are cleared away, you will be delighted to see all of your new lighting fixtures, rugs in place, drapery hung, and wallpaper on the walls. At our firm, we typically carry out installations over a period of two to three weeks. This process must follow a specific order to ensure that none of the installations interfere with each other. For instance, we will paint before installing the window treatments.

Next, we will arrange for the delivery of all furniture, table lamps, bedding, and accessories. We warehouse everything and schedule a single delivery to bring it all to you at once. You'll see all of your new furniture in its designated spots. Our design team will then style and accessorize the space to perfection. When you see your completed design, you'll likely exclaim, "Wow, this is fantastic! I love my home!" The entire timeframe for completing the design project typically ranges from 2 to 10 months.
